Congregate Meals

Seniors can enjoy a healthy meal in a convivial setting at the El Monte Jack Crippen Multipurpose Senior Center Monday through Friday at 11:30 am The program offers a well-balanced hot meal to individuals age 60 and older and their spouse. Meals are prepared with no salt added and with ingredients lower in saturated fat and cholesterol. Additional considerations include using non-fat milk in puddings and creamed dishes and soups; using canola oil when oil is called for; using egg substitute in egg dishes; and canned fruit in light syrup.

Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m., meals served on a first come first served basis.

The program suggested donation is $2.00 per meal.

This program is funded in part by the Older Americans Act, Title III and administered by the Los Angeles County Area Agency on Aging.

Meals on Wheels

This program is offered to eligible home-bound residents who may be unable, because of age, infirmity or other circumstance, to prepare an adequate meal independently.

Caring volunteers deliver a hot and well-balanced meal to your doorstep Monday through Friday. The cost is $3.00 per day and the program serves the cities of El Monte and South El Monte. For additional information on the Meals on Wheels Program, please contact (626) 580-2210.
