Neigborhood Services

Our neighborhoods are the environment in which we live and raise our families. Blight and nuisances can devalue, detract, and degrade the quality of any neighborhood. Recognizing the importance of protecting the home environment, the City has adopted codes that govern the use and maintenance of private property.

The Neighborhood Services Division provides enforcement of municipal, county and state adopted codes to ensure compliance for safe living and business operations in the City of El Monte.

Recyclable Scavengers

We are seeing increased incidences of recyclable scavenging in our neighborhoods.  Not only does scavenging generate litter on our streets that affects the quality of our neighborhoods, the theft of property is a criminal offense and may be punishable by the issuance of a Misdemeanor Citation.  Help keep our streets clean and safe by placing your recyclables out for pickup as late as possible the night before your pickup and report any scavenging activities to the City of El Monte Scavenging Hotline (626) 258-8876.
