As many of you are aware, the Eaton Fire is currently burning near Altadena and is visible from El Monte. Earlier this evening, evacuation orders were issued for residents in neighboring cities. To clarify, there are no evacuation warnings or orders for the City of El Monte at this time. City staff are actively collaborating with local authorities to respond to downed power lines, fallen trees, structure fires, and other emergencies. If you encounter any downed trees, please call 626-580-2250 to report them. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night.
