The Zoning Code outlines what uses can go in different areas of a city. In addition, it outlines the rules residents, business owners and developers must follow when constructing new or adding onto existing housing units and commercial properties. The feedback provided in this survey will help the City make changes to existing rules and determine whether new rules are needed. Survey respondents will remain anonymous. In addition, the City is studying the feasibility of creating a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District. This is when new property tax revenue increases are placed in a special fund to pay for public improvements such as street repairs and landscape medians and for community benefits such as affordable housing and parks. More… The City of El Monte’s next future community park is coming soon. It is located on a vacant lot next to Monterey Avenue and Valley Boulevard. The future 0.85 Acre community park will offer a variety of amenities for all ages. The future community park will have two playgrounds, swings, benches, picnic tables, shade structures, restroom, green space, walking path, landscaping and many other amenities for the residents and community to enjoy.
